Crandon, WI (February 18, 2009)-Traxxas TORC, the premier short course off-road truck racing series in the nation, has entered into an agreement with Paul Taublieb of Media X International, Inc. (MXi), to deliver and produce television and digital media partnerships for 2009 and beyond.
“Headed by a legend, Ricky Johnson, combined with the support of the top drivers, TORC is clearly the property which is going to be the leader in this incredibly exciting, action-packed form of motorsports,” commented Taublieb, CEO and Founder of MXi. “Along with his partner, Mitch Covington, I’m thrilled to be a part of a team which has put together an incredible schedule with great promoting partners, has locked in a fantastic sponsorship portfolio and offers the opportunity to build a media property from a great racing tradition that can be broadcast in a cutting-edge fashion.”
Taublieb’s previous efforts include working as a consultant on the creation of the ESPN X Games, for whom he still serves as official Sport Organizer for all motorcycle competitions. A former NASCAR licensee for whom he produced over 20 documentaries, Taublieb has produced award-winning live and taped action sports and motorsports events and content for ABC, NBC, CBS, USA Network, Fuel TV, Discovery Channel , National Geographic, and Speed TV. He has provided media consulting and other services for corporations including Sony, VAS Entertainment, Omnicom/Radiate Group, Warner Bros., Monster Energy Drink, Nokia, Coca Cola, Maloof Money Cup and Jeep/Chrysler, among others. In addition, he produced Mike Metzger’s world record back flip over Caesars Palace, is current developing a 3D IMAX global surf exploration film, as well as a motorsports-related television reality series with Mark Burnett Productions. In addition, Taublieb is developing a new action sports judging system “ISX – The Instant Scoring Experience” in partnership with skateboard icon and MTV star, Rob Dyrdek.
“Paul Taublieb is the kind of producer, with the kind of relationships, our sport needs and deserves,” says TORC’s Ricky Johnson. “Moreover, working hand-in-hand with him, we will be able to present off road truck racing in a way combining action sports, dirt sports and motorsports, maybe with a little bit of MMA thrown in, while highlighting the compelling personal stories of us drivers – some would call us characters – who are the people who truly make our sport what it is.”
